Recent Events
September 2023: Party in the Park
For over 20 years we have held our annual Party in the Park, a local community event in Penn Road Gardens with an average attendance of over 150.
The Gardens offer the perfect setting for this open event for residents of Penn Road and the wider local area, with stalls, children's activities, food, music, a raffle and more.
After a break following the pandemic, we are excited to be holding a Party in the Park for 2023 in early September. The exact date will be announced soon – watch out for more details!
7th May 2023: Coronation – Street Party
On Sunday 7th May we are celebrating the coronation and our community with a street party in the cul-de-sac.
All are welcome, and once again we invite donations of non-perishable food to contribute to a local food back.
The event is a BYO picnic – bring something to share, as well as a home-made cake to enter our bake-off competition!
October 2022: Harvest Festival Street Party
In October we held our second Street Party in the cul-de-sac, this one to collect for the Ringcross Food Bank.
On a gloriously sunny afternoon, the afternoon resulted in an impressive collection of ambient food and hygiene products, as neighbours nattered and enjoyed the food people brought along, especially Jacqui's goat curry.
June 2022: Platinum Jubilee Community Party
The late Queen's platinum jubilee provided the perfect opportunity to hold a community party in June 2022.
Set up in the closed off cal-de-sac end of Penn Road beside the Gardens, it meant we were not bound by the red tape and form filling that an event in the Gardens requires, as it is council property.
It was a great afternoon and brought many neighbours together who had not met due to the pandemic, alongside old friends and neighbours.
